My mum Mrs Evelyn Anderson died on January 6th 2008 in Hairmyres Hospital on Ward 12. She was 56 at
the time of her death.
Evelyn was a loving Christian wife to Paul who died at 33 under tragic circumstances, and a loving
mother to Lesley, Laura and Kirsty. Three Grandchildren Jack, Paul and Isabel. Evelyns sister
Elizabeth and a brother Gordon , her mum margaret and her late dad Ronnie who we know she loved us
all very much.
Evelyn had worked in various caring organisations and always cared for all. Evelyn was born in
Oakley in Fife then through a work related situation my grandparents moved to East Kilbride where my
grandfather worked for Rolls Royce they stayed in Falkland Park, Strathfillan Road then she moved to
kent in 1978 with my dad to Sevenoaks then Hartley near Longfield. East Kilbride for many years my
mums maiden name was Gillies.
Evelyn took a stroke like symptom on the 5th October 2007 and was admitted to hospital which they
done a CT Scan and found Brain Tumours, Lung Cancer and Adrenalin Cancer for 3 months she was very
ill and underwent Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. The Radiotherapy did help the brain tumours to
shrink but the Chemotherapy had side affects which made her feel very ill.
On the 19th December 2007 she was having problems breathing so she was admitted once again to
Hairmyres Hospital she was constantly attached to oxygen and nebolisers.
Then she started loose her voice in the begining of january and then on the 5th January her oxygen
levels started to go down but they did manage to stabalise her then I, got a phone call from
Hairmyres Hospital at 5AM which i went straight up to see her, they did manage to stableise her for
a while and she fought it all day she was in so much pain she died at 5.30pm of pneumonia I can not
believe she has gone but if she died of the cancers it would of been a lot more painful for her.
My mum never complained much, even though she was in a lot of pain. Her faith in God and in Jesus
was very real to all who knew her. She was an inspiration. She was well loved and respected all who
knew her as well as the neighbourhood of Douglasdale in the West Mains. She had time to talk to
everybody and she cared for everybody she met.
She is a mother whom you remember who had love for all her family and friends.
My mum will always be in my heart and my prayers.

evelyn you did a great job bringing up your daughter lesley, she's a credit to you she's a lovely person. your grandchildren are beautiful too. i'm sorry your not around to enjoy them. i didnt know you but i know your daughter she's a wonderful person, and i know she misses you every day.

Mum i miss you so much you know i love u jacks started drama classes last tuesday on your anniversary.
Went to see aunt elizabeth and stayed for dinner donna, robyn and jessica came too it helped us all.
